Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

Mayvil is a private field application used by municipal stormwater and environmental compliance staff. It is not a consumer product and is not offered to the general public. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it belongs to.

Who controls your data

Inspection records created in Mayvil belong to the jurisdiction that issued your account. That agency is the controller of those records; Tewms LLC operates Mayvil on its behalf as a service provider and handles the data only to run the app and to support the agency.

What Mayvil collects

How it is used

Collected data is used to create and store inspection records, sync them between your device and your agency’s account, produce MS4 and other compliance reporting, respond to your support requests, and keep the app secure and working correctly. Mayvil does not sell personal information, does not share it with advertisers, and does not use inspection content for advertising or profiling.

Offline storage on your device

Because field work happens outside coverage, inspections are written to your device first and stored there until they sync. That local copy is protected by your device’s own encryption and passcode, which is why devices used for inspections should have a passcode enabled and should be reported to your agency if lost or stolen.

Jurisdiction isolation

Records are partitioned by jurisdiction. Users signed in under one agency cannot read or export another agency’s inspections.

Service providers

Mayvil runs on Google Cloud and Firebase, which host the application and store synced records on our behalf. Providers are used only to deliver the service and are not permitted to use agency data for their own purposes.

Retention and deletion

Inspection records are public records of the issuing agency, and retention is set by that agency’s schedule and applicable Texas records law — not by us. Agencies can request export or deletion of their data at any time. Individual users should direct requests about their own account to their program manager.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the staff who need it to operate and support the service, and accounts are issued and revoked by each jurisdiction. No system is perfectly secure, but suspected incidents affecting agency data are reported to the affected agency.

Children

Mayvil is a workplace tool for municipal staff. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated, and material changes are communicated to participating jurisdictions.
